Residential Demolition in Riverbank, CA

Residential Demolition · Riverbank, CA

House demolition from a family company since 1967

Riverbank Environmental & Demolition handles residential demolition across Northern California. Modesto and Stockton are regular runs for us, and Bay Area teardowns are steady work from San Francisco down to San Jose. We also take house demolition work in Sacramento and Santa Cruz.

Most house demolition calls come before a new build. Some owners have a house that burned or a remodel that stalled. We take the structure down and haul the debris off. What is left is a clear lot.

  • Fire damaged house demolition and cleanup

What a House Demolition Involves

Every house demolition starts with a survey for asbestos. A state certified asbestos consultant inspects the building and pulls samples. If the lab finds asbestos, we handle the asbestos removal before the teardown begins. We work under CSLB #247684 and CAL OSHA #507.

The utilities get disconnected before any machine work. Power, gas, water, and sewer are shut off and capped. Once the permit is issued, the structure comes down. Debris is loaded into trucks, and the old foundation comes out as concrete removal work on the same job.

Teardowns Across Northern California

Much of our house demolition work is teardown and rebuild. Older ranch homes sit on lots worth more than the house itself. We see the same pattern with residential demolition in Fremont and across the Peninsula. Older lots close to town in the Central Valley go the same way.

Fire damaged homes are another common case. So are remodels that stalled once the structure turned out worse than expected. Smaller jobs come up too, like a detached garage or a mobile home on a rural parcel.

Permits and the Asbestos Survey

In California, the building department wants a copy of your asbestos notification before it issues a demolition permit. That notice goes to the local air district. The wait is ten working days from the day it is filed. That clock runs even when the survey finds no asbestos.

Which air district you deal with depends on the address. Stanislaus County work, like house demolition in Modesto, falls under the San Joaquin Valley district. Bay Area addresses answer to their own district with different forms. A single family home can qualify for a residential exclusion, and the district has a release form for it.

Do I need an asbestos survey before house demolition?
In most cases, yes. A state certified asbestos consultant surveys the building and sends samples to a lab. The building department wants that paperwork and the air district notice before it issues a permit. If asbestos turns up, it comes out before the teardown.
How long does a house demolition take?
The paperwork sets the schedule. The air district notice runs ten working days before demolition can start. Asbestos removal, when the survey calls for it, happens before that. The machine work on a single story house is the short part.
Can you take down a garage or a mobile home?
Yes. Detached garages and mobile homes are regular residential demolition jobs for us. A mobile home gets checked for asbestos the same way a house does. Older units often have it in the flooring and the wall panels.
What is left on the lot when the house is gone?
A clear lot with the debris hauled away. The foundation can come out with the house, or stay if your builder wants it. Utilities stay capped where the utility company left them.
Do you handle house demolition outside Riverbank?
Yes. We cover the Central Valley and the Peninsula. Bay Area work runs from San Francisco down to San Jose, with Oakland and Fremont in between. We also take jobs in Sacramento and Santa Cruz.
